Pakistan committed to regional peace but firm on national defence: Bugti
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has expressed full confidence and pride in the successful operations of Pakistan’s armed forces against terrorist elements and hostile actors across the border.
He said that the nation’s brave soldiers have thwarted the enemy’s nefarious designs and made the entire country proud.
In a message on social media platform X, the chief minister paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the motherland, describing them as “true symbols of bravery, honour, and determination.” He said their sacrifices would never be forgotten and that the nation would always remember them with gratitude.
Sarfraz Bugti emphasised that the people of Balochistan, along with the entire nation, stand firmly with the armed forces “like a rock.” He strongly condemned the use of Afghan soil for hostile activities against Pakistan, declaring it “completely unacceptable.” The chief minister reiterated that Pakistan seeks peace but will never tolerate any aggression or adventurism when it comes to national defense and sovereignty.
He noted that the timely and effective actions of Pakistan’s armed forces had destroyed enemy bases, training camps, and terrorist networks—demonstrating the military’s professional excellence and unwavering resolve. Bugti warned that the provocative activities of terrorist groups supported by Afghan and Indian elements pose a serious threat to regional peace.
“The Pakistani forces have given a clear message through their decisive response at the border that the country’s sovereignty is non-negotiable,” he said. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs, he added that the nation takes immense pride in their sacrifices and stands in full solidarity with them.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, the chief minister said the country has always prioritised stability, mutual respect, and diplomacy. However, he made it clear that “there can be no compromise on national defence and sovereignty.”
“Pakistan is a responsible state that prefers dialogue and peace,” he said, “but if our national security is threatened, the state and its people are fully capable of confronting any danger,” he said.
