PARACHINAR: Six miners were trapped inside a coalmine after an explosion caused flooding inside the mine in the Tora Warai area of Kurram tribal district on Saturday.
Soon after the incident, the rescue teams reached the site and launched an operation.
According to police and rescue sources, during blasting inside the coalmine in the Tora Wari area inKurram, the underground water level suddenly rose.
As a result, the land collapsed and a portion of the mine caved in, trapping six miners inside.
Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 teams from Hangu and Kurram districts rushed to the site and launched a joint rescue operation.
Using modern equipment, rescue workers have begun pumping water out of the mine. The rescue personnel were making hectic efforts to reach the trapped miners.
