QUETTA: An Imam was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Shadizai area of Kalat on Thursday.
According to police, the victim, identified as Maulvi Sher Muhammad, son of Shah Murad, was giving the morning call to prayer (Azan) when armed men opened fire, killing him on the spot.
Police reached the scene and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
