ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet is set to meet on Thursday (today) with a busy agenda, including the decisions on security, aviation assets, legislative matters and power sector reforms.
According to official sources, the cabinet is expected to approve the initiation of legislation for the establishment of a dedicated security force for the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda). The force would safeguard strategic project sites across the country, particularly hydropower and water infrastructure.
The cabinet will also take up a proposal to approve the disposal of aircraft owned by the Department of Plant Protection, which operates under the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
In addition, the cabinet is expected to approve the Railways (Amendment) Ordinance 2025, along with ratifying the decisions made by the key cabinet committees including the Cabinet Committee on Emigration, Overseas Employment and Technical Vocational Training (TVT), the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases (CCLC).
According to the agenda, the power sector will also give an update on the power sector reforms.
