Casandra "Cassie" Ventura’s lawyers have finally responded to Sean "Diddy" Combs' prison sentence, which is less than what they initially demanded.
On Friday, October 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced the Bad Boy Records founder to 50 months in prison, a punishment that fell between the 11 years prosecutors sought and the 14-month term requested by Diddy’s defense team, according to TMZ.
"While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognises the impact of the serious offenses he committed," said Ventura’s attorneys, Douglas Wigdor and Meredith Firetog of Wigdor LLP, in a statement.
"We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing, knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many," they added, as per People.
For the unversed, the disgraced music mogul has been sentenced to over four years in prison after a nearly two-month federal trial, which ended in July with the former American rapper being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
However, the Bad Boy For Life singer was acquitted of more severe charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion after Ventura, who had an on-again, off-again relationship with the 55-year-old Harlem-born from 2007 to 2018, filed a lawsuit in November 2023 in New York.
The 39-year-old singer, dancer, actress model alleged that she had been raped, trafficked, and physically assaulted by Combs multiple times under a period of ten years.
