ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways on Wednesday deferred consideration of the Transfer of Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2025, due to the absence of members from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The meeting was adjourned without taking up the agenda.
A requisitioned meeting of the committee was held at Parliament House, presided over by MNA Waseem Qadir in the absence of the chairman, in accordance with sub-rule (2) of Rule 216 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.
Before taking up discussion on the bill, the committee observed that in the absence of PPP members, it would be appropriate to defer consideration until they participate in a subsequent meeting. Accordingly, the meeting was adjourned.
