MoU signed for digital transformation of judiciary
ISLAMABAD: The Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) and the National Information Technology Board (NITB) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance digital transformation in the justice sector.
The signing ceremony was held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan and attended by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi. Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Supreme Court judges including Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Chairman of the National Judicial Automation Committee (NJAC) Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, and Federal IT Secretary Zarrar Hasham Khan were also present. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi attended the event online from Lahore.
The MoU was signed by the LJCP Secretary and the NITB Chief Executive Officer. Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly develop an Analytical Dashboard for the Judiciary — a digital platform to consolidate judicial data, monitor case backlogs, track disposal rates, and strengthen evidence-based policymaking.
Following the signing, the E-Office system was formally launched in the Supreme Court, marking a major step towards paperless administration. The new system will digitize file movement and office work, while a dedicated case management system for Supreme Court judges is also in the pipeline.
