DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Thirteen members of a family, including six women and three children, were killed when a mini-truck plunged into a ravine near Dana Sar in the jurisdiction of Mughal Kot Police Station here on Friday.
The mini-truck, traveling from Muslim Bagh in Balochistan to Paharpur, reportedly suffered a brake failure and went out of control.
Police and rescue officials said the truck was carrying household belongings and livestock in addition to passengers. “The vehicle fell into the gorge after its brakes failed and 13 people on the spot,” said an official.
The Rescue teams, with the help of local residents, launched an immediate relief operation, recovered bodies and shifted the three injured to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The truck was completely destroyed in the accident.
