Taylor Swift teasing 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)?' All dots connected
Taylor Swift fans believe all Easter Eggs point towards ‘Reputation’ vault tracks
Taylor Swift seems to be hinting at a new re-release of none other than the much-awaited Reputation (Taylor’s Version), but this time it doesn’t appear to be just a fan theory.
The 35-year-old pop superstar last updated on the vault tracks in her special letter in May, in which she announced that she had re-purchased her masters.
In the letter, the Anti-Hero hitmaker admitted that she hasn’t “even re-recorded a quarter of it,” but she did promise that the vault tracks will be released when the time is right.
However, now the 14-time-Grammy winner’s fans think there might just be sufficient evidence that the time has come.
All the Easter Eggs leading to Reputation (Taylor’s Version):
Swift claimed “A showgirl knows to save some of her best tricks for the grand finale…,” in her latest post on Instagram, in which she announced another variant for her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd is Your King Edition.
Now, fans believe the “best trick” and the “grand finale” is not the variant, but rather something to come.
In the wake of the Showgirl promo, Swifties took to social media and analysed the photoshoot displayed in Swift’s latest post.
Fans noted that the Eras Tour performer had her hand reaching out to one of the pictures on the wall, which stood out among all the rest, considering its different aesthetic from Showgirl.
Swifties also theorised that the picture was, instead, similar to the singer’s Reputation Era – specifically her TIME cover, in which she mentioned the “vault tracks” being “fire.”
Coincidence? Swifties think not.
Yet another one of the pictures on the wall showed two “Exit” signs, which fans think are Easter Eggs. Several eagle-eyed fans explained what that could mean.
“A showgirl —in fact, many performers— LEAVE the stage and COME BACK for an encore. Especially so when there is a standing ovation. The AUDIENCE begs for one more dance, one more song. I think she’s dropping ts12, and when the curtain goes down, the ENCORE will be rep vault tracks.”
One further added, “the picture is protruding from the wall like it’s going to swing open and reveal a vault. With all of the rep association, I do think it is showing us vault tracks for rep.”
Notably, the Mastermind songstress recently shared a behind-the-scenes video for her The Fate of Ophelia music video, which had (surprise! surprise!) two of Reputation's tracks playing in the background.
To top that all off, fans were reminded of the “Reputation-themed” posts her management, Taylor Nation, was sharing back in July, which sparked the rumours for the 2017 album’s vault tracks’ release.
Although Swifties continue to patiently wait (and make memes) about the exciting clues, the vault will only be opened at the “grand finale” or The Life of a Showgirl’s release.
