ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan declared that her brother, Imran Khan, is “under no obligation” to explain how he manages to post messages on ‘X’ from prison, insisting the account is his legitimate voice.
Aleema Khan explained that the primary responsibility for conveying the PTI founder’s messages rests with his family. “We forward the messages of the founder after discussing them. The founder’s ‘X’ account is his personal account, and it reflects his will,” she said. She questioned the government’s preoccupation with the issue, suggesting that an administration with a “stolen mandate” shows no remorse for its actions, yet is troubled by the PTI founder’s communications. In a democracy, she argued, conveying one’s views to the public is not a crime. Regarding the Toshakhana II case, she described it as straightforward and anticipated an acquittal. She also noted that the high court has scheduled the Al-Qadir case hearing for October 16, as the Toshakhana II verdict is expected to be delivered first. She clarified that the call for the September 27 rally was issued by the party founder, urging unity in the pursuit of “real freedom.” “We have no other agenda for Pakistan. We want the release of our brother. If the founder is released, Pakistan will move toward improvement,” she affirmed.
