ISLAMABAD: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Muhammad Afzal Majuka, on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Advocate Iman Mazari and Advocate Hadi Ali Chatha in a case pertaining to a controversial tweet against the state and national security institutions.
The warrants were issued after both accused failed to appear despite earlier summons. The court directed that they be arrested and presented at the next hearing. Later, counsel for Mazari and Chatha submitted a petition seeking cancellation of the warrants; however, the court rejected the request on the spot. The hearing of the case was then adjourned until Sept 24.
