QUETTA: The FIA arrested 12 people, including Afghan nationals, in Jiwani as they attempted to illegally cross into Iran by sea.
FIA spokesperson said the operation was carried out on Thursday, leading to the arrest of five Afghan nationals and seven Pakistani citizens. Of the Pakistanis, six were from Punjab and one from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During questioning, the detainees confessed that they planned to enter Iran illegally by sea and then proceed onward to other countries. A case has been registered against them.
The spokesperson added that the crackdown against human smuggling and illegal border crossings is ongoing. Over the past month, FIA Balochistan Zone has registered 42 cases and arrested 265 suspects linked to human smuggling and unlawful
migration.
