ISLAMABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Amir Zia on Monday granted bail to the accused in the case of alleged kidnapping and threatening of TikToker Samia Hijab after she reportedly refused to continue following him.
At the start of the hearing, the investigation officer appeared before the court, while Samia Hijab was initially absent. She later appeared in person, but media representatives were ordered out of the courtroom.
While recording her statement, Samia Hijab told the court that the matter had been settled and that she wished to withdraw the case. She said she had no objection to the accused, Hassan Zahid, being released on bail or acquitted. Following her statement, the court granted bail to Hassan Zahid. Two separate cases had been registered against him at the Shalimar police station.
Samia Hijab, the central figure in the widely discussed case, recorded a reconciliation statement in court and left shortly afterwards. Outside the courtroom, journalists asked her several questions, but she remained silent and left in her car.
