TikTok ban resolution submitted in Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: A resolution to ban TikTok was submitted in the Punjab Assembly.

The resolution has been presented by opposition member Farrukh Javed Moon, in which the federal government has been requested to completely ban TikTok in Pakistan.

The text of the submitted resolution stated that in Pakistan, TikTok mafia was promoting obscenity and nudity through live chat, which was attracting the younger generation, especially children, towards immorality.

The resolution further stated that young boys and girls talk obscenely among themselves and incite each other to immoral acts, which was completely against Islamic social values.

The younger generation was increasingly attracted to platforms like TikTok for cheap fame and money-making, which was creating disorder in the society.

The resolution demanded that this house of the provincial assembly appealed to the federal government to immediately ban TikTok and its live chat feature, so as to save the younger generation from moral destruction.

It should be noted that temporary bans have been imposed on TikTok in Pakistan in the past as well, the main reasons for which included obscenity, immoral content and negative effects on the mental and moral training of users.
