Dispensing timely, effective justice duty of judges: CJP
MUZAFFARABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has underlined the need of using the latest technology to achieve the set targets of the judicial system.
He was addressing a Judicial Conference in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir here on Saturday.
The CJP said that dispensing timely and effective justice is a constitutional mandate and moral responsibility of the judges. He reiterated the judiciary’s resolve to foster innovation, inclusivity and collaboration in building a justice system that is transparent and equitable. He said that the AJK judicial system is also facing problems like increase in number of cases. He said that the interest of the litigants should always be given priority. The chief justice assured the cooperation from Pakistani judiciary to AJK judiciary.
AJK Minister for Law Justice Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Mian Abdul Waheed, AJK Supreme Court Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan, Supreme Court of Pakistan judges Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Irfan Sadaat Khan, Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, Shakil Ahmed, Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Ali Baqar Najafi, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Syed Muhammad Attique Shah, Supreme Court Bar Association President Rauf Atta, Pakistan Bar Council Vice Chairman Chaudhry Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Additional Attorney Generals Rana Asadullah Khan, Barrister Umar Aslam Khan and judges of AJK Supreme Court were also present on the occasion.
