Gandapur’s arrest warrant issued in liquor, arms smuggling case
ISLAMABAD: Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the liquor and arms seizure case.
During the hearing, neither Gandapur nor did anyone representing him appear in the court.
The judge ordered that Gandapur be arrested and presented in the court and adjourned the hearing till September 17.
Later, Gandapur’s lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan appeared in the court and asked the judge if his arrest warrant had been issued.
Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti said, “Produce the accused and I will cancel the warrant.” The court rejected the counsel’s request to suspend the arrest warrant for Gandapur and adjourned the hearing to September 17. Bhara Kahu police station had registered the case against Ali Amin Gandapur.
In another case, Civil Judge Aftab Alam disposed of Zartaj Gul’s petition for a stay order against the notice issued for vacating the Parliament Lodges after disqualification.
In another case, Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry dismissed the bail of accused Hassan Zahid, arrested in the case of kidnapping Samiya Hijab through TikTok, and granted his two-day physical remand.
