Federal govt reduces interest rate on general, contributory provident funds

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the interest rate on general and contributory provident funds.
The Ministry of Finance has issued a resolution for the partial dividend of GB and Contributory Provident Funds.
As per the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the mark up rate of GP and Contributory Fund has been fixed at 12.46 percent, with effect from FY2024-25. According to Finance Ministry, the GP Fund output rate was 13.97 percent.
The Finance Ministry had set a mark-up rate of 13.97 percent under the October 2024 resolution. Provident Fund mark-up rate in FY23 was 14.22 percent.
