Calligraphic artpieces showcased at PAC

Rawalpindi: Internationally acclaimed calligrapher Muhammad Azeem Iqbal, who has been working in the field of Islamic calligraphy for the past thirty-five years, continues to inspire art lovers nationally and internationally with his unique style that blends tradition with innovation.

Known for reviving the classical styles of calligraphy by using materials such as bones, wood, leather, deer’s skin, and gold and silver leaves, Azeem Iqbal has also pioneered the use of sacred 'Aab-i-Zam Zam' from Makkah to dilute colors for writing Holy Verses of Quran. His work symbolizes the cultural identity of the Islamic world while portraying the chronological evolution of Quranic calligraphy.

The exhibition was inaugurated by PPP Central Executive Committee Member Syed Sadaqat Hussain Shah along with Director Punjab Arts Council (PAC), Rawalpindi Muhammad Shakoor. More than 100 artworks by famous calligrapher Muhammad Azeem and his students were based on the rare and rare culture of the Prophetic era, which were beautifully displayed. His paintings reflect deep spiritual devotion and convey messages of love, compassion and unity inspired by the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The chief guest highlighted that such cultural events are very important in spreading the universal message of the Prophet of Islam through art, especially to the younger generations.

A large number of people including students, art lovers and community members attended the event. Among the special guests were former Director of Punjab Council of the Arts, Waqar Ahmed and Sajjad Hussain, who appreciated the calligraphy works. He further said that Punjab Council has always patronized art and artists so that the fine arts can be promoted and developed. Their paintings reflect deep spiritual devotion and convey messages of love, compassion and unity inspired by the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Many of his new paintings were displayed where he had depicted the same era of Our Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him). Khana Kaaba early drawings, Islamic art, various styles of calligraphy, copy of original letters of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be Upon Him) whom he sent to different Chiefs of Tribe.
