PESHAWAR: A station house officer and two other policemen were martyred in an attack in Karak Wednesday night.
Reports said armed men opened fire on a police party in Ahmadi Banda at night. Station House Officer Umar Nawaz and two other cops were martyred in the attack.
Heavy contingents of police reached the spot and the cops cordoned off the area. A search operation was underway. The deputy inspector general, Kohat, Abbas Majeed Marwat, confirmed three cops, including an SHO, were martyred.
He said a team headed by DPO of Karak was conducting an operation as a couple of criminals involved in the attack had been identified.
