One Direction to reunite at Jonas Brothers concert after Fifth Harmony?

Fifth Harmony’s surprise performance during the Jonas Brothers’ tour stop in Dallas over the weekend has fans buzzing and calling for another iconic reunion: One Direction.

The all-girl group, which Camila Cabello exited in 2016, reunited onstage during the Jonas20: Greetings from Your Hometown tour, igniting a wave of nostalgia.

Following their unexpected reunion after seven years, fans of One Direction took to X (formerly Twitter), urging the beloved boy band to follow suit.

"We want one direction to also announce their comeback alongside with fifth harmony that would be iconic asf," one fan wrote attached with a GIF of a sad monkey.

With the Jonas Brothers earning a reputation as the ultimate reunion-makers, another fan pleaded, "Jonas Brothers I beg you to please reunite One Direction [crying emoji]."

As the pop band continues to surprise fans with unexpected and emotional onstage moments, including a Camp Rock reunion with Demi Lovato, the Fifth Harmony reunion, and most recently, a performance with Kelsea Ballerini, fans are starting to view them as the unofficial facilitators of pop nostalgia.

For the unversed, the excitement around a potential One Direction reunion is amplified by the parallels between the two groups.

Fifth Harmony and One Direction were formed on televised talent competitions, The X Factor USA in 2010 and The X Factor UK in 2012, respectively, and rose to international fame as fan-favorite groups.

One Direction disbanded in 2016, a year after Zayn Malik left the group in 2015. The remaining members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne pursued solo careers.

Fifth Harmony, meanwhile, announced their indefinite hiatus in 2018.

If a One Direction reunion were to happen, it would undoubtedly be an emotional event, not just due to Zayn’s departure, but also in light of the tragic passing of Liam on October 16, 2024.
