ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday filed a fresh petition in the Supreme Court, seeking permission to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.
The petition, filed under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, names the Federation of Pakistan, the Ministry of Interior, the Punjab Government (through its Chief Secretary), and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, as respondents. In his plea, Gandapur contended that despite a court order, he had not been allowed to meet Imran Khan for necessary political consultation. He requested the apex court to direct the jail administration to facilitate a meeting with the party founder. However, it was later learnt that the registrar’s office returned the petition, objecting that the power of attorney lacked a signature, making the application inadmissible.
