Flood victims housing project to have solar panels, sanitation facilities: Bilawal
SUKKUR: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has expressed his happiness that the provincial government was providing homes in line with ex-PM Benazir Bhutto’s pledge of ‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makan’.
The PPP chairman was speaking to the flood-affected families during a ceremony to hand over ownership documents of the newly built and under-construction houses. It was held in Village Khair Muhammad Brohi, Union Council Waris Dino, Taluka Ratodero, Larkana. PPP Women’s Wing Central President and MPA Faryal Talpur also attended the event.
Bilawal said the Sindh government is making every possible effort to ensure the swift completion of houses for 2.1m flood-affected families, while also guaranteeing that their ownership rights are transferred to women. Bilawal said the housing project would be equipped with free solar panels. “Through another landmark initiative, the Sindh government would soon provide these houses with proper WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) facilities. It is PPP’s commitment that wherever these houses are being built, the families will also be provided with dignified and sustainable WASH facilities.”
Later, PPP Chairman visited Zangeja village in Taluka Ratodero, where he extended condolences to Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the son of martyred Sindh Police Constable Munir Ahmed Soomro Shaheed, as well as to other family members.
