LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin Friday discussed the establishment of new Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) units in 13 districts to address public needs.
Chairing a meeting at Wasa Lahore, the minister was briefed by DG Wasa Punjab Tayyab Fareed, who informed that all machinery and staff of the Municipal Committees in the districts had been placed at Wasa’s disposal.
The meeting reviewed issues including the establishment of central offices, complaint management systems, and the formation of Boards of Management. The minister directed all Wasas to expedite the desilting campaign and ensure timely redressal of public grievances. He also stressed the importance of awareness campaigns to inform citizens about the establishment and functioning of the new Wasa units. The meeting was attended by the MDs of Wasa Lahore, Sargodha, Jhang, Sahiwal, Okara, and Sialkot.
