LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered separate cases in Islamabad and Peshawar, arresting suspects involved in child pornography, blackmail, and harassment.
In Islamabad, FIR No. 133/2025 was registered on August 22 against Mohiud Deen, son of Qamar Zaman, a resident of Mohalla Pir Mushidi, Tarlai Kalan. The suspect allegedly created and operated fake Facebook and WhatsApp accounts to obtain, share, and distribute child pornographic material, including sexually explicit videos and pictures of minors.
The case was filed under Section 22 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 read with Section 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Inspector Ilyas Khan of NCCIA confirmed that the FIR was lodged on the complaint of Imran Haider, Assistant Director Cyber Crime Reporting Centre, FIA Islamabad. Authorities said investigations were underway to identify possible accomplices.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, NCCIA arrested two suspects for blackmail and harassment under FIR No. 67/2025, registered under Sections 20, 21, 24 of PECA and Sections 506, 509 of the PPC.
The first suspect, Ajmal, son of Amir Muhammad Khan of Badaber, allegedly posed as a director of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to lure a girl with false promises of a job. He is accused of recording her video, recovering private photos and videos, and sending them to her family in an attempt to break her engagement.
On Ajmal’s disclosure, a second suspect, Amir Nawaz, son of Shehzad Mir, was arrested. Several secretly recorded videos were seized from his possession. Reports indicate he provided accommodation to couples in exchange for money.
Both suspects are currently on physical remand, with investigations led by Sub-Inspector Sajjad Ahmad.
