Acting Punjab Governor Malik Ahmad Khan hoisted the national flag in the presence of a large gathering, which include senior government officials, students, and people from various walks of life. National anthem was also presented at the ceremony followed by loud slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ from the participants

Addressing the ceremony, the acting governor said, “Following the victory in the Battle of Truth, we proudly stand before the world as a strong and dignified nation. This Independence Day is filled with the same spirit of courage and commitment that was demonstrated on May 10. The Pakistan Army has once again proved that it is a solid wall of defence for the beloved homeland.”

The acting governor further stated, “The responsible and professional role of the ISPR DG and our media during the war is commendable. India has always leveled false accusations of terrorism against Pakistan, but whenever evidence was demanded, it failed to provide. The incident of Pahalgam is another example of this false propaganda, which was used as a pretext for cowardly aggression against Pakistan. However, the way our Field Marshal, Air Chief, and Naval Chief crushed the enemy within hours became a historic moment witnessed by the entire world on May 10.”

He added, “Today is a day to renew our pledge that we will set aside all differences and stand united as one nation for the security, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan.”Later, Malik Ahmad Khan visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, laid a floral wreath, and offered fateha. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour. The acting governor prayed for the solidarity, development, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan and paid rich tribute to the Poet of the East.
