Speaking at an Independence Day and “Battle for Truth” ceremony in Peshawar, Amir Muqam congratulated the nation on the country’s historic successes, recalling the sacrifices of Pakistan’s forefathers in achieving independence in 1947.

“This country was won through the sacrifices of our elders, and its defense and integrity are safeguarded by our united nation and the Pakistan Army,” he said.

He praised the armed forces for their actions against India in past conflicts, saying the army’s performance, under the leadership of the Army Chief and Field Marshal, had demonstrated Pakistan’s military capabilities to the world.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, the minister said that under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan had moved past economic instability and joined the ranks of emerging economies. He credited Field Marshal Asim Munir with playing a key role in strengthening both the defense and economy of the country.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Kashmir and Palestine, vowing to stand with them until they achieve independence.

Amir Muqam criticized Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for holding protests on August 14, accusing them of dividing the nation on a day meant for unity.

“If you want to protest for your leader, choose another day, even August 15, but do not spoil this day of joy and national pride,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the rival party would soon lose its political foothold in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, paving the way for development and prosperity in the province.

“The Pakistani nation must remember which era brought progress and which era set the country back,” he added.
