ALPURI: The last spell of monsoon rains continued to lash various parts of Shangla and surrounding areas on Thursday.
The persistent rains turned the weather cooler and triggered low-level flooding in seasonal streams, including Amanvi Khwar.
Incidents of land-sliding were also reported on main roads. It was reported that debris from the Chakesar-Karora landslide had again fallen onto the main road, creating difficulties for vehicular traffic.
The main water channels of local hydropower plants have been swept away by the floodwaters, leading to the suspension of electricity from these plants.
Also, hundreds of tourists continued to arrive in Shangla and were enjoying the weather. There was a noticeable increase in tourist traffic at Yakhtangi, Malam Jabba and other tourist destinations.
