The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) on Wednesday conducted the second draw for the distribution of prizes among the users of POS-integrated invoices issued to the customers of restaurants, beauty parlours, and gyms in the province.
The event held at the SRB office selected winners of 75 prizes (including 50 cash prizes) through computerised balloting. A press release issued in this regard said the SRB introduced the scheme of integrating the POS invoicing system of the business concerns, providing the services of restaurants, beauty parlours, and gyms, with the SRB computerised system for real-time reporting of their invoices.
The scheme also enables the customers to verify the authenticity of such invoices by scanning/verifying the QR code/SRB invoice number through the “eSRB” smartphone application or through the SRB website.
The system was widely advertised for the information of the general public, and it received a huge response from the service recipients. The POS system, besides providing transparency, also aims at combating possible tax evasion of tax.
To incentivise customers to use the POS-integrated invoices for such services, the SRB devised computerised ballot-selected prize schemes where customers who have verified their receipts from the POS-integrated business can win prizes.
With the success of the POS system and its incentivisation through the prize schemes, the SRB expects that the customers will demand POS-integrated invoices from the restaurants, beauty parlours, and gyms and verify their authentication as per the prescribed procedure. This will not only help in transparent revenue collection but will also bring customer satisfaction about the deposit of their tax amount in the government exchequer.
