RAWALPINDI. The Special Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi has extended until August 26 the interim bail of Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, nominated in 29 cases registered in different police stations regarding PTI violent protests on November 26, and directed that she be included in investigations in 19 cases of Attock.
Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Faisal Malik appeared in the court. He said PTI cases were in the Supreme Court. Senior lawyers and he himself are going to the Supreme Court. To it, the court ruled: “It is okay for you to come through the Supreme Court. Today, we will hear final arguments in this case.” The court then postponed the hearing subject to the return of the accused’s lawyer from the Supreme Court. However, after waiting, Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah took the position that Bushra Bibi was not included in the investigation in the 19 cases of Attock. She was only involved in 10 Rawalpindi cases. Though Bushra Bibi is the main accused in the November 26 cases and her interim bail has been running since August 2024, no decision has been taken on interim bail for a year. The prosecutor said the accused incited people, which disrupted peace and a clash took place with law-enforcement agencies. A policeman was martyred. The court adjourned the hearing till August 26.
