ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi Wednesday excused from hearing the case of Bahria Town management against the auction of its properties by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and referred the matter to the previous bench.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, heard the appeals against the order of Islamabad High Court, allowing the anti- graft body to auction off the properties.
Justice Shafi Siddiqui, and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb were the other members of the bench.
Farooq H Naek appeared before the court on behalf of Bahria Town. However, Justice Afridi declined to hear the case, stating that it would be more appropriate for the previous bench to continue the proceedings.
The chief justice then referred the matter to the previous bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
Naek informed the court that the detailed judgment of the Islamabad High Court s division bench on the matter had also been issued. He requested the court to allow him to submit arguments on behalf of his client in light of the detailed decision, which the court accepted. The case was then referred back to the old bench, and further hearing was adjourned indefinitely.
