NA takes up motion today to oust PTI’s Waqas over absence

ISLAMABAD: Sheikh Waqas Akram, Central Information Secretary of the PTI, would cease to be a member of the National Assembly today (Wednesday) if the House adopts a motion for his ouster from the assembly due to his absence from the House for a consecutive 40 days. The motion put up by PMLN MNA Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar from Sialkot last week would be considered today after seven days since it is a requirement of the relevant clause of the rules.
According to sources, he has been living in Peshawar since last year after registration of criminal cases against him.
