Infiltration bid foiled: 33 India-sponsored terrorists killed in Zhob
Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other khawarij found in the area
RAWALPINDI: Security forces have eliminated 33 terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij in Zhob district of Balochistan.
On August 7-8 night, movement of a large group of khawarij, belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij, who were trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by the security forces in general area Sambaza, Zhob district of Balochistan. Troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. “As a result of precise, bold and skilfull engagement, 33 Indian sponsored khawarij were sent to hell,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
A large cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered. Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other khawarij found in the area. The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers and to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
APP adds: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Friday paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for eliminating 33 khawarij, backed by India, during a successful counter-terrorism operation in Balochistan. In a statement issued by the Presidency, the President hailed the courage, professionalism, and timely action of the armed forces in defending the nation’s borders. He added that the entire nation is proud of its valiant forces who foiled the malicious designs of the enemy.
Condemning cross-border terrorism orchestrated with Indian support, the President said Pakistan would deal firmly with any attempt to breach its sovereignty. “We will dismantle every network of terrorism backed by India,” he asserted.
The prime minister calling the Army operation a remarkable success in the nation’s ongoing fight against terrorism, a PM Office news release said.
“Our brave soldiers risked their lives to foil this infiltration attempt and crushed the nefarious designs of the terrorists,” he said.
PM Shehbaz reaffirmed the nation’s unity and unwavering support for its armed forces in the battle against extremism, stating, “The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with our security forces in this fight.”
He said: “We are determined to eliminate every trace of terrorism from our soil.”
Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the security forces for foiling an infiltration attempt by the Indian-sponsored Khawarij along with killing 33 terrorists in Zhob. She vowed, “Be it the Khawarij or their sponsors, the protectors of the holy land, will deal with every conspiracy and terrorist activity with an iron hand.”
She highlighted, “The security forces have sent a message to the terrorists loud and clear that they will be stamped out at any cost and peace will prevail in Pakistan come what may.” She affirmed, “I salute each and every soldier for consigning to hell 33 Khawarij in Zhob.”
