LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has stated Panama Papers have clearly revealed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is involved in corruption and money laundering.
Speaking to journalists after chairing meeting of party leaders in Lahore, Imran Khan said, “PM Nawaz is mistaken if he believes he is above accountability”.
Khan said tax fraud, corruption and money laundering are severely harming the country.
PTI chief directed party leaders to prepare for anti-government campaign and said that they will not allow PML-N to run away from Panama leaks issue.
Imran went on to say PTI will try to take other parties along for this campaign. He asserted that this plan will not stop until accountability of the Premier.
Imran Khan once again presented himself for accountability, saying “I am ready for my own accountability.”
Commenting on funds granted to Darul Uloom Haqqania by the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Imran said the provincial government did not ask him before granting fund to the seminary. However, he said seminaries should also be brought into national mainstream.
“KP government itself will answer why it granted funds to seminary”, said Imran Khan.
Jahangir Tareen, Mehmood ur Rasheed, Aijaz Choudry, Aleem Khan and other party leaders attended the meeting.
