Palace sends Princess Anne for major role as royal family gather for second day of Royal Ascot
Princess Anne will not be making an appearance at the second day of the Royal Ascot on Wednesday as the Princess Royal takes on major task on behalf of the monarch.
King Charles’s sister attended the first day of the event alongside her two children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips with their respective partners. However, Anne seems to have a tight schedule which she will be tending to before her major trip.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the 74-year-old royal will be visiting the Lincolnshire Show on the occasion of its One Hundred and Fortieth Anniversary as the royal family gathers at the five-day event in Berkshire.
Following her visit on Wednesday, Anne is expected to travel to Scotland for two major royal engagements. She will first be visiting a hospice and then she will perform her duty as the Honorary Member of The Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland.
It is anticipated that King Charles and Queen Camilla will return for the second day while the remaining appearances of the royals are uncertain.
On the first day, the monarchs were also joined by Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Moreover, Sarah Ferguson was also in attendance.
Last week, Anne was also a notable presence as she attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony in full military regalia and Garter Day service just a day after.
