KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari arrived at the house of slain qawwal Amjad Sabri in order to condole with the late artist's family.
Bilawal arrived at the house amid tight security. Special preparations for the PPP chairman's visit had been made since the morning, as the street outside the house had been swept clean.
Amjad Sabri had been shot to death in Karachi last Wednesday in Liaquatabad as he was on his way to the stuido of a private news channel for a transmission.
Sabri's death drew condemnations from Pakistan and neighbouring India as well.
When Bilawal Bhutto came outside to speak to the media, a reported asked him regarding what the Sindh government was doing in connection with Sabri's murder investigation and the kidnapping of Owais Ali Shah.
Bilawal urged Anwar Siyal to respond to the question by saying "Answer, Sindh government. Answer."
Siyal said in response to a question, that he would not disclose any progress of the cases with the media. He cited the reasons that it would alert the perpetrators which would then make it difficult for the security agencies to do their work.
"The army, ISI, IB, Sindh government and police are working together to solve these cases," he said. "I would urge you all to place a little faith in these institutions."
