ISLAMABAD, KARACHI: Interior Ministry on Tuesday announced four holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry, Eid holidays will be observed from 5th to 8th of next month.
Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan is likely to fall on July 6, the Director General of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said two days back.
DG Met Dr Ghulam Rasool told the local media that the moon is expected to appear on 29th of Ramazan. The moon will be first sighted at Balochistan’s coastal areas including Pasni and Jiwani.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee would take place on July 5 to sight the Shawwal crescent, which would be attended by religious scholars and experts of Pakistan Meteorological Department.
All branches of commercial banks will remain open on next two Saturdays falling on 2nd and 9th of next month.
In a statement, State bank has asked all the commercial banks to ensure the proper functioning of ATM machines during the Eid holidays.
It also directed all the banks to display the contact numbers of focal persons of branches properly to register any complaints.
