Soulja Boy, rapper who is known for hit Crank That (Soulja Boy) and his influence in early days of social media fame, has recently been ordered to pay $4 million after being found guilty in a sexual assault and abuse lawsuit.
The case was filed by a woman, referred to as Jane Doe, who accused him of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and harassment throughout their two-year relationship.
The jury found the rapper responsible for causing emotional distress, sexual harassment and failing to pay wages. However, he was found not guilty of the charges related to false imprisonment and unfair dismissal.
The lawsuit, which was filed back in January 2021, claimed that Jane Doe started as Soulja Boy’s personal assistant in 2018. And what began as a professional relationship quickly turned into a romantic one, but soon became abusive.
The woman says the music icon sent explicit photos, locked her in a room without food for days, and assaulted her multiple times.
Photos of showing bruises and all the scars on her body along with threatening text messages, one saying, “Die b**. Shoulda kil**d your stupid ass", were crucial evidence in the case.
