Ed Sheeran reveals how wife Cherry Seaborn helps him navigate fame
Ed Sheeran on why he calls his wife ‘grounding force’ in a candid interview
Ed Sheeran has recently explained how his wife Cherry Seaborn helps to keep him grounded in his life amid fame.
Speaking on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy podcast, the Grammy winner opened up about navigating his life with Cherry, whom he married in 2018 and now shares two daughters.
“Cherry is the biggest grounding force,” said the Shape of You hit-maker.
Sheeran continued, “Like, anytime that anything is a little bit too Hollywood, she's like, ‘Bro…’ And especially because I grew up with her, there's always a lens of Suffolk over it.”
The Photograph singer further said, “I tried to build a bowling alley in our backyard, and she was just like, ‘Come on, man. You don't need that.’”
“She just doesn't want our children growing up and it being like, you know, the Richie Rich house,” he told Alex Cooper, the host of podcast.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sheeran discussed his struggle with fame and how his life changed.
“Relationships wise — not just romantic — but just relationships in my life, friendships, family, everything shifted,” stated the 34-year-old.
Sheeran noted that he didn’t change but “everyone around me changed in their way of treating me, or acting or talking or, like, leaking things”.
The musician also shared that it’s “really fun to be a pop star for the night and go to the Grammys and sort of be like, ‘Wow, look at everyone’”.
However, Sheeran added, “It's important to be able to go home and be a regular human being.”
