Meghan Markle ‘falls short’ of expecations
Meghan Markle’s Netflix show struggles, yet lands surprise Season 2 Renewal
Meghan Markel’s latest Netflix venture, ‘With Love, Meghan’ has made it into the platform’s global 10 but with underhelming numbers.
The lifestyle series, which features the Duchess sharing cooking and hosting tips, garnered 2.6 million views in its first week- far behind the success of Harry & Meghan, which amassed 97.7 million hours watched upon release in 2022.
Despite the disappointing response, Netflix has confirmed a second season, set to premiere in autumn. The first season received mixed reviews from critics, yet it managed to rank seventh in the UK and just made it into the US top 10, reported Mirror.
The Sussexes’ multi-multimillion–dollar deal with Netflix has produced several projects, but with ‘Love, Meghan’ is their first to chart globally. Previous releases, including “Live to Lead” and “Heart of Invictus”, failed to secure a spot in the top 10.
In a lighthearted Instagram post, Meghan appeared unfazed by the reviews, sharing a playful video wearing a hat with the phrase ‘lettuce romaine calm.’
While her latest project may not have been a blockbuster, its renewal signals that Netflix is still betting on her brand.
