Director Paul Feig clears-up feud rumours between Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick
Paul Feig sets record straight over feud rumours between Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively
Director Paul Feig shut down rumours of A Simple Favour’s sequel postponement.
On January 10, the 62-year-old director dismissed claims that the movie, which stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, was shelved due to alleged tensions between the actresses and the legal battle of the 37-year-old star with Justin Baldoni.
"Blake’s refusal to promote amid her messy legal battle with Justin and growing tensions with Anna. She is furious, Paul is disappointed, and Hollywood is in shock," an X user shared on the platform.
"The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don't believe anything you read on social media these days,” he clarified on X.
He explained that only the post production process is to be blamed for the delay as it is very time consuming and usually takes more than half a year.
The Ghostbusters director further mentioned that tasks like editing, special effects, sound mixing and other technical steps often take a lot of time to complete.
"Movies don’t come out the second they’re finished because the studio spends the previous year deciding the best date to release it," he stated.
"The movie is awesome, and Blake and Anna turn in amazing performances," he added.
Paul has publicly supported the Gossip Girl alum during her ongoing legal battle with The Jane The Virgin star, calling her "a professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind individual."
