QUETTA: A college principal was shot dead on Wednesday when unknown gunmen opened fire at him.
Slain Barrister Amanullah Achakzai was principal at University Law College, Geo News reported.
According to police the attack took place at Spinny Road, near Kali Tarkha, on the outskirts of Quetta city. Unknown men sprayed bullets on his car and critically injured the professor. He was rushed to the Quetta Civil Hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on the way.
Police said that Achakzai was on his way to the university. The attackers shot between 10 and 12 bullets in his chest.
Members from the lawyer's community reached the hospital and staged a protest. They threatened boycott of court duties if the government does not launch a thorough investigation into the incident.
Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri took notice of the incident and demanded a report.
