LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's open heart surgery operation began, as the Pakistain Premier was shifted to the operation theatre.
The Prime Minister's son, Hussain Nawaz, spoke exclusively to Geo News and stated that his father was content when he went into the operation theatre.
"My father's morale was high when he went into the operaton theatre," he said.
After Nawaz Sharif was shifted to the operation theater, his relatives started reciting Durood and praying for his welfare. Chief Minister of Punjab and brother of Nawaz, Shahbaz Sharif was present with other Sharif family members in the waiting room.
According to reports, Prime Minister Nawaz spoke to his mother on the phone prior to his operation and asked her to pray for him. Reportedly, he also embraced Shahbaz Sharif before going into the operation theatre.
Russia's Vladmir Putin, Afghanistan's Ashraf Ghani, India's Narendra Modi and other world leaders also wished Nawaz Sharif a speedy recovery and hoped for a successful operation.
Yesterday, PM Nawaz had presided over a budget meeting and a meeting of the National Economic Council from the Pakistan High Commission in London via video link.
