MUZAFFARABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said likes of Mullah Mansour and US drones were roaming in Pakistan due to policies adopted by former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
Commenting on the killing of Taliban chief Mullah Mansour in a US drone attack in Balochistan last week, he said neither ground nor space of the country have been secure due to Musharraf’s policies.
“Terrorism and drone attacks are the two gifts that Musharraf has given,” he said.
“Nawaz Sharif made the country self-reliant in electricity production while Musharraf pushed it into darkness,” Pervaiz Rashid said.
He said PTI chairman Imran Khan who supported the military dictator's referendum wants to stage sit-in at a time when Pakistan needs stability.
“We want to make the roads backbone of economy but, those who take pride in their 120-day dharna are once again talking of coming to streets,” he said.
The government came under severe criticism for allowing the former military dictator, who came to power after deposing Nawaz Shairf, to exit the country on medical grounds this year.
However, the government defended it decision saying that Musharraf was removed from the Exit Control List in the light of Supreme Court order.
