QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif arrived in Quetta on thursday for a day-long visit to the provincial capital of Balochistan.
The army chief is expected to oversee the security situation as well as monitor the operational activities of security forces. According to ISPR, General Raheel Sharif will visit the Corps Headquarters where he will review the security situation of Balochistan and also take stock of the ongoing military operation in the province.
The army chief will also address an august gathering at the Command and Staff College Quetta.
General Raheel Sharif had yesterday met American ambassador David Hale and expressed 'serious concerns' over the latest US drone strike which killed Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour. General Raheel had conveyed to the American ambassador that such drone strikes were detrimental to Pak-US ties and regional stability and damaged peace efforts.
