Keith Urban gives Miley Cyrus a ‘bizarre’ compliment: Deets inside
Keith Urban sings a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ track Flowers during interview
Keith Urban has recently given a bizarre compliment to Miley Cyrus during an appearance on Nova 96.9's Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie in Sydney.
“I love that voice, man, that voice,” said Keith while discussing about Miley’s singing skills.
The singer-songwriter remarked, “She sounds like an ashtray. And I mean that as a compliment. She sounds like the carpet at the RSL!”
Keith’s comments came after he sang a rendition of Miley’s song Flowers on the show.
The musician also shared his thoughts on the authenticity of other country artists who are making their name in Nashville.
“It's a funny thing because you still need the support of the system in Nashville and if you go about it the right way, like Post (Malone) did, you'll see the love,” stated the 56-year-old.
Earlier in April, Keith spoke to PEOPLE and discussed about Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande’s music.
“I mean, God, Taylor's songwriting, it's so extraordinary,” he continued.
At the time, Keith mentioned, “There's really no adjectives for it. She's such a great, great writer. So, this new album is just more proof of that in really great ways.”
Meanwhile, Keith also revealed he’s a fan of Ariana’s song, We Can't Be Friends.
“I don't know what is going on with that song, but I cannot stop playing it. It's like audible heroin. Literally, I have to have another hit. I play that thing over and over and over,” he added.
