PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islamic commenced its anti-corruption train march from Nowshera's railway station where the JI chief addressed the crowd briefly before beginning the march.
"All the names that have been mentioned in the Panama leaks are of the elite," said Senator Siraj-ul-Haq. "It does not mention the names of the labourers."
The JI chief further said that those who have shifted their illegal money outside the country should face strict accountability. He also said that his party had decided to bring back looted wealth from outside back to Pakistan.
Siraj placed the blame for poverty, unemployment, load-shedding and unrest in the country on corrupt politicians, leaders and bureaucrats.
"I want to give a clear message to the corrupt mafia that corruption and Pakistan will not go hand-in-hand," he said. "Because of corrupt mafia, the doors of education are closed to the poor's children," he said.
Jamaat-e-Islami's anti-corruption train march begins from today and will end in Karachi on May 27.
