ISLAMABAD: Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday notified a 12-member parliamentary committee that will propose the terms of reference (ToRs) for the Panama Leaks inquiry commission.
As agreed from the both side of treasury and opposition benches the committee is comprised 6 government ministers and 6 opposition members of parliament.
Senator Ishaq Dar, Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Anusha Rehman, Akram Khan Durrani and Khawaja Saad Rafique will represent the government.
Senator Aitzaz Ahsan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sahibzada Tariqullah, Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, Tariq Basheer Cheema and Senator Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif are representing the opposition.
The first meeting of committee will be held on Wednesday.
The committee has been given the mandate to consider options for inquiring into issues raised by the Panama Papers including offshore companies, transfer of funds from Pakistan, commissions or kickbacks, and written-off bank loans.
After finalizing the ToRs the committee is bound to submit its report within two weeks before the parliament.
