Chris Evans, wife Alba Baptista, want to expand their family ‘ASAP’
The newlyweds tied the knot in September 2023 are pet-parents to Evans’ rescue dog Dodger
Chris Evans and Alba Baptista have been talking about making a new furry addition to their family as soon as they get some “downtime.”
In a recent interview with People Magazine published August 2, the Marvel star, 43, shared that he and Baptista — whom he married in September 2023 — are considering either getting a new puppy or adopting an older dog.
“Anytime you see one of those stories about some eight or nine-year-old dog that gets adopted who’s had a rough life, it just kills you. And so, to some degree, that’s kind of what we’ve been thinking,” the Captain America star revealed.
Despite their frequent discussions about bringing home another dog, the couple has yet to take the leap.
“We both need a little bit of downtime for that,” Evans said about the decision to adopt another dog. “We’ve always said, ‘Well, maybe we’ll just go down to the shelter,’ and I’m like, ‘Listen, do you really think we’re going to walk down there and not leave with at least one dog?’ There’s no way. So if we make the decision to actually walk in the door, we’re walking out with one.”
Evans has some experience in the adoption route, as he welcomed his dog Dodger home from the shelter while filming the 2017 movie Gifted.
Reflecting on his bond with his “special” dog Dodger, Evans declared that adopting him was “one of the most profound experiences [he’s] ever had and that he will “only rescue dogs” from now on.
