Alyssa Milano pays tribute to ‘Charmed’ co-star Shannen Doherty
Alyssa Milano shares heartwarming remarks in late Shannen Doherty’s tribute
Alyssa Milano poured down her heart in a tribute to her Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty, who died Saturday at age 53.
“It’s no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at its core was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of,” Milano said in a statement shared by Variety.
“She was a talented actress, beloved by many and the world is less without her. My condolences to all who loved her.”
Alongside Holly Marie Combs, Milano and Doherty portrayed three magical sisters in the television series Charmed, which ran from 1998 until 2001, when Doherty's character, Prue Halliwell, was killed off in the third-season finale.
In 2006, the show's eighth and final season would air.
Doherty and Milano had a “complicated” off-screen relationship all these years, as the latter said in the tribute.
Combs claimed in December 2023, that Milano got Doherty fired from Charmed, to which Milano replied in an Instagram post.
She refuted the claims and said that she “did not have the power to get anyone fired.”
She also revealed that a “professional mediator” was called on set, who “after collecting testimony from cast and crew,” advised producer Aaron Spelling about what changes should be made, who eventually decided to fire Doherty.
