Even Luke Newton can’t escape from Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso hype.
The Bridgerton star, who played the leading role of Colin Bridgerton on the third season of the Netflix hit series, made his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the Wednesday, June 19 episode.
During the latest episode of the night show, Newton, 31, delivered some of the Espresso lyrics in dialogue version as his Bridgerton character.
"Say you can't sleep / Baby, I know / That's that me / Espresso," he stated the lines while looking straight into the camera, proving that he can make anything "romantic."
To make the performance more interesting, Bridgerton-inspired dramatic music played in the background.
Before the heart-capturing dialogue delivery, Jimmy Fallon introduced the segment to the actor, saying, "Everyone thinks that you can make anything sound romantic... and sexy."
"I thought if we gave you some random lines from modern pop culture, maybe you'd be able to show us how Colin Bridgerton would say them if he were talking to Penelope," the host added, noting to Newton's onscreen love interest Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan.
Additionally, Espresso has been widely acclaimed since its premiere on April 11.
With the song, Carpenter, 25, nabbed her first top-five track on Billboard's Hot 100 and her first No. 1 in the U.K., Ireland, and Australia.
